ABOUT THE COMPANY

OneWood

OneWood is a producing and selling company of terrace, fence and façade boards made of the wood plastic composite material in Estonia. The composition of the products are developed for the use in Nordic climate, by containing the best combination of wood (60%), plastic (30%) and additives (10%). This combination of materials provides a natural wooden look to the products, ensures long-lasting durability and insignificant maintenance costs.

The products are weatherproof, do not need oiling or staining, do not separate surfaces and are not slippery even with wet weather. OneWood products change the way of thinking regarding the maintenance and safe use of terraces, fences and facades.

OneWood OÜ complies with the quality management system standard ISO 9001:2015 (certificate number 10000305683-MSC-FINAS-EST, issued on 20 January 2020) and the environmental management system standard ISO 14001:2015 (certificate number 10000305684-MSC-FINAS-EST, issued on 20 January 2020). The management system certificates are valid for the following products or services: development, production, and sale of wood-based plastic products.

OneWood OÜ is a member of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 12 December 2018.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has your company been in operation?

We have been in business since 2015. In this time, we have accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge, thanks to which we have improved and continue to improve our products. We work daily to give our customers the best experience and ensure that they remain satisfied with the product even ten years after the purchase.

Will your products last forever?

Today, we can confidently claim that our products last for several decades. Wood-plastic composite has been developed to avoid the need to replace products made of this material.

The material you use is recyclable, but is the raw material made from recycled materials?

The wood and plastic used in our products are largely recycled materials. We are currently taking steps towards a greener footprint.

After installing your products, I’ve got some pieces left over. What should I do with them?

We would be glad to have the leftover pieces returned. We have the means to recycle product waste and convert it to new products. This way, we can contribute to a cleaner environment.

I’ve heard that wood-plastic composite gives off an unpleasant smell in warm weather, is it true for your product?

Our products don’t give off any smells. Nor do you need to worry that they would release harmful compounds in warm conditions.

If I choose wood-plastic composite, will the board remain free from scratches or marks?

There are few materials in the world that are completely resistant to scratches and marks. Enough pressure will leave marks on our material; however, this is nothing to worry about. In sufficient sunlight, the scratches and marks will even out to the shade of the surrounding board and might become unnoticeable after some time.

Will your product heat up in the sun?

The laws of physics dictate that a dark surface will absorb more of the incident light than a light-coloured one, whether wood-plastic composite or natural wood. As our products contain 30% plastic, they will indeed become slightly warmer in the summer than solid wood.

How badly will a wood-plastic composite board fade in the sun, will it need retreatment with tinted oil every year?

Most of the colours we provide are fairly resistant. However, the grey colour in our range will turn noticeably lighter in the sun. In sufficiently strong sunlight, this process is rather quick and consistent – the boards reach their final shade in a couple of weeks and will not fade any further.

You also supply a plastic clip for installation, is its durability comparable to that of the metal clip?

The plastic clip in our product range has been designed to meet high standards. The plastic clip is suitable for use with our Light profile and you need not worry about its durability. We can promise that it will lasts as well as the metal clip.

Can I order boards with length over 4.2 m from you?

At present, the Light profile can be ordered in lengths over 4200 mm. This profile can be manufactured in lengths up to 6000 mm. If you wish to order custom-sized products, please contact our sales specialist for more detailed information about ordering custom sizes.

Does wood-plastic composite change size in different weather conditions like wood does?

Wood-plastic composite reacts to external conditions differently from wood. One of the main differences is that wood-plastic composite expands longitudinally. Therefore, the board needs to be installed with expansion joints at the ends. This is described in more detail in our installation guide. The installation guides are available here.
